The
relationship I have with my patients is the part of my career I value the most.
Every patient is different. Whether I am establishing safety
guidelines for the local Little League or examining professional football
players during pre-season evaluations, I am constantly learning and being
inspired by the people I treat.
As an editorial
reviewer for The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and The American Journal of Sports Medicine, I stay
current with the ongoing research and
experiences of my colleagues. I strive to provide
the latest innovations in orthopedics, while
evaluating the risks and benefits of new
technologies.
Some injuries are
preventable, some accidental, and others the casualty
of high intensity sports, but they all can be
devastating to the people and families involved. I
have always had empathy for my patients, but after having sustained a
serious orthopedic injury myself, I gained an even deeper
understanding of the vulnerability a patient often
feels. I bring this insight and awareness to work
with me every day.
There is nothing more
fulfilling than helping my patients regain their
health and mobility. That is my challenge and my
reward.
